The federation represents its members to various stakeholders, including political entities, administrations, employers' organizations, and the media, engaging in social and political debates encompassing road safety, environmental protection, mobility, economic issues, and taxation. To actively promote the sector and defend the interests of its members, FEBIAC organizes events such as the European Motor Show Brussels. Additionally, the federation gathers, analyzes, and disseminates information concerning the automobile and two-wheeler markets, as well as the circulating fleet, and serves as a platform for meetings, networking, and training. FEBIAC maintains contacts with international associations such as the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA), the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA), and the European Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers (ACEM). (febiac.be ) The federation's history dates back to 1899 with the creation of the "Chambre Syndicale de l'Automobile et des Industries qui s'y rattachent," serving as a federation for Belgian manufacturers and their subcontractors. After World War I, it was renamed the "Chambre Syndicale des Constructeurs d'Automobiles et de Cycles de Belgique." In 1936, the "Fédération Belge de l'Industrie de l'Automobile et du Cycle" (FEBIAC) was established as an association of foreign manufacturers operating in Belgium. The two associations merged in 1969, forming the current FEBIAC. The federation organized its first Motor and Cycle Show on March 8, 1902, and has since continued to play a significant role in promoting the automotive and two-wheeler industries.
