(larac.be ) Recognized by the Ministry of Culture of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles as an accredited professional federation, RAC's mission encompasses: Representing and defending the choreographic sector, artists' conditions, and members' interests before various public authorities and institutions in Belgium. Creating a space for exchange and discussion within the choreographic sector to foster evolution and solidarity, promoting collective emulation. Promoting choreographic art to various cultural institutions by representing the sector at festivals and attending key events in Belgium and abroad. Offering activities such as training sessions and informational workshops that align with these missions to support artists. (larac.be ) RAC's history dates back to 1997 when choreographers united to address the precariousness of the dance sector, aiming to consolidate their ideas and advocate collectively to the press and public authorities. In 2007, a new board was elected, leading to significant initiatives that enhanced sector cohesion and representation before the Ministry of Culture and Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles institutions. These initiatives included RAC's recognition as a professional federation, thematic reflection meetings on choreographic creation, the establishment of a website, and interventions with the Ministry regarding budget reductions for creation aids. In 2016, another board restructuring focused on building a democratic and unifying representation of the entire sector. By 2018, RAC evolved into the "Réseau des Arts Chorégraphiques," encompassing all individuals working in the dance sector within the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles. Since then, RAC has benefited from a program contract granted by the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles (Service de la Danse) to fulfill its professional federation missions. (larac.be ) RAC is administratively hosted at La Raffinerie, Charleroi Danse, located at 21, Rue de Manchester, 1080 Brussels, Belgium. The organization operates with the support of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles.
