Conflicool is a Belgian organization dedicated to enhancing the understanding and practice of dispute resolution methods, particularly focusing on mediation. Through comprehensive research and public engagement, Conflicool aims to foster a culture of peaceful conflict resolution within Belgian society. In October 2022, they collaborated with the University of Antwerp and YouGov to conduct a large-scale survey titled 'Barometer of Dispute Resolution in Belgium: Residents' Attitudes to and Experiences with Handling Disputes.' This study, led by Prof. Dr. Stefan Rutten, sought to gauge public perceptions and experiences regarding legal disputes and their resolution. The findings, published in multiple languages including English, Dutch, French, and German, provide valuable insights into the Belgian populace's approach to conflict management. By disseminating these results, Conflicool contributes to informed discussions and policy-making aimed at improving dispute resolution processes across the country. Their commitment to research-driven initiatives underscores their role as a pivotal entity in promoting effective and accessible conflict resolution strategies in Belgium.
