The Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) is the world's largest support network for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with international ambitions. Established in 2008 by the European Commission, the Network operates worldwide, bringing together experts from over 500 member organizations renowned for their excellence in business support. These member organizations include chambers of commerce and industry, regional development organizations, universities and research institutes, and innovation agencies. (een.ec.europa.eu ) EEN offers a comprehensive suite of services designed to help businesses innovate and grow on an international scale. These services encompass personalized advice on market opportunities, assistance in navigating EU legislation and policies, support in accessing EU funding programs, and guidance on digitalization and sustainability transitions. The Network also facilitates business, technology, and research and development partnerships by managing Europe's largest online database of business opportunities. (een.ec.europa.eu ) The mission of the Enterprise Europe Network is to place the client's needs at the heart of its operations, providing tailored support to businesses at any stage of their growth path. With a client-centric approach, the Network's international advisers leverage their expertise and resources to help businesses thrive, offering services that accurately match their business needs. Since its inception, EEN has supported over 260,000 companies annually, with 97% of clients rating the support as fast, efficient, and tailored. (een.ec.europa.eu ) The Network is funded through the Single Market Programme (SMP) and implemented by the European Commission's European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA). While individual businesses cannot become Network members, they can access the numerous services offered by EEN. Additionally, the Network invites leading business support organizations outside the EU and from countries not part of the Single Market Programme to become International Network Partners, thereby extending its global reach and fostering international collaboration. (een.ec.europa.eu ) Through its extensive network and diverse range of services, the Enterprise Europe Network plays a pivotal role in helping SMEs transform high-quality research into market-ready innovations, access funding opportunities, and establish international partnerships, thereby contributing to the growth and competitiveness of businesses in a rapidly changing global context.
