Agoria

Agoria, formerly known as Fabrimetal, is a Belgian sectoral employer's organisation dedicated to fostering development through technology. We pave the way for all technology-inspired companies in Belgium that seek to contribute to global advancement by developing or implementing innovations. With pride, we support more than 2,000 member companies, accounting for approximately 321,000 workers, relying on the three pillars of our services: advice, business development, and creating the ideal business climate. Our purpose is to connect all those inspired by technology, to help companies grow, and to help shape a sustainable future. We advocate for the interests of an industry that employs more than 300,000 individuals and focuses on fostering sustainable growth and innovation. Agoria represents and supports over 2,000 technology firms in Belgium, advocating for the interests of an industry that employs more than 300,000 individuals and focuses on fostering sustainable growth and innovation. The story of Agoria began in 1946 with the establishment of Fabrimetal, the Federation of Enterprises in the Metal Industry. This organisation was based on the principles of the Federation of Manufacturers, established in 1906. At its peak, Fabrimetal represented 1,200 enterprises in the metalworking industry, electrical construction, and plastics processing industries. The name change from Fabrimetal to Agoria was announced on 9 November 2000, reflecting the organisation's evolved vision to support companies from other sectors, such as ICT. Agoria has more than 2,000 technology companies from the manufacturing industry and the digital and telecom sectors among its members, 70% of which are SMEs. This makes Agoria the largest federation within the Federation of Belgian Enterprises. Agoria has around 200 employees, based at offices in Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent, Liège, and Charleroi. Belgian technology companies boast the highest added value (€39 billion in 2019) and the highest economic growth in real terms (11.5% since 2015) of any sector in the country. In 2019, the industry turnover was €132 billion, with investment exceeding €4 billion. At Agoria, we make a difference for Belgian technology companies every day.
