Voka, Flanders' Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is the most representative employers' organization in Flanders. As the largest business network in the region, Voka represents the interests of more than 18,000 companies. The network collaborates with sector organizations and strives to create an optimal framework for successful entrepreneurship. Voka offers access to a comprehensive business network, enabling companies to connect, share knowledge, and foster growth. By representing the interests of businesses in Flanders, Voka formulates policy proposals that contribute to the growth of the Flemish economy. Together, we ensure that entrepreneurship grows and flourishes here, for the well-being of everyone. To address the increasing number of long-term sick employees, Voka advocates for giving the occupational physician a central role, rather than the health insurance fund's advisory physician. This approach aims to provide more effective support for employees and employers alike. With a targeted investment of 1.9 million euros per year, Flemish Minister Zuhal Demir is strengthening the Talent Centers. This initiative aims to provide extra support to vulnerable young people—who currently find it more difficult to navigate their way—in their choice of study. The number of Talent Centers is increasing from 7 to 20, thanks to the opening of 13 pop-up locations. Voka considers the increase in the enhanced employer contribution for commuting to be the wrong signal in economically difficult times. Therefore, Voka urges the government to quickly work on fiscal compensation for this measure. Voka, the Flemish network of enterprises, rejects the idea of expensive energy support measures that will further derail the flawed budgetary situation.
