The International Association of Facilitators (IAF) Belgium is dedicated to promoting the power of facilitation within Belgium. As a chapter of the global professional association for facilitators, IAF Belgium upholds internationally accepted industry standards, offers accreditation through the IAF Certified Professional Facilitator program, supports a vibrant community of practice, advocates for the value of facilitation, and educates on its effectiveness in helping people collaborate efficiently. Embracing diversity, IAF Belgium is a participatory organization that welcomes everyone interested in facilitation and its widespread application. The board comprises experienced professionals committed to advancing facilitation: Sue : A European public affairs specialist trained by and working as a facilitator for the European Commission. She has been leading participatory and art of hosting processes for the Commission for seven years. Marie : With over 12 years of experience, Marie supports NGOs, civil society actors, and international institutions in their transformation and continuous improvement projects. She employs collaborative and participative facilitation methods and enjoys training the next generation of facilitators. Andrew : Over the past eight years, Andrew has assisted associations, communities, and organizations in developing shared visions for the future and achieving transformational change through dialogue and participatory decision-making processes in strategy sessions and retreats. Ralph : A Reverse Workshop Designer and Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Ralph experiments with and reflects on various methods that facilitate self-learning. He integrates his knowledge of agile methodologies, user experience (UX), and game-based learning into his practice. Sylvain : A facilitator and professional Scrum Master, Sylvain drives agile transitions and facilitates collaboration among multiple stakeholders in the financial risk sector. Outside of facilitation, he practices improvisation and develops his theatrical craft. Through the collective expertise of its board members and the active participation of its community, IAF Belgium continues to champion the art and science of facilitation, fostering environments where effective collaboration thrives.
