Mundo-Lab is a network of office and meeting centers in Belgium, offering eco-designed and eco-managed workspaces to non-profit organizations, NGOs, and social enterprises. Since its inception in 2008, Mundo-Lab has been driven by strong social values and a commitment to sustainability. The organization provides over 17,000 square meters of professional and affordable workspace across five centers, accommodating 256 organizations and fostering a community of 1,890 engaged members. Mundo-Lab's approach follows the triple bottom line—social, environmental, and financial—as defined in the Quintessentials. Mundo-Lab's mission is to offer sustainable, accessible, and shared real estate facilities and services to non-profit organizations and social sector businesses. By providing turnkey office and meeting spaces, Mundo-Lab enables its tenants to focus on their core activities while taking care of all aspects of maintaining and running the premises. Sustainability is the guiding principle behind every Mundo-Lab decision, from the location, construction, and management of its buildings to the choice of its partners. The organization prioritizes long-term investments and is financed by ethical investors who emphasize ethical returns over financial gains. Mundo-Lab encourages collaboration and dialogue among its members, believing that global problems are best solved collectively. By bringing together organizations with complementary missions, Mundo-Lab creates networks and optimizes management through the pooling of resources and services. The first Mundo center, Mundo Matonge (formerly Mundo-b), was opened in 2009 as a result of an initiative by several Brussels non-profit organizations in the sustainable development sector. Since then, additional centers have been established, including Mundo Namur in 2010, Mundo Trône in 2014, Mundo Antwerp in 2018, Mundo Madou in 2020, and Mundo Louvain-la-Neuve in 2023. Mundo-Lab offers comfortable private offices, coworking spaces, and professional meeting rooms at affordable prices. Each center includes a cafeteria, a conference room, numerous meeting rooms, and, where possible, outdoor spaces. The organization hosts a network of over 250 organizations, forming a stimulating and positive work community where interaction promotes new perspectives and synergies. Mundo-Lab also organizes networking events such as workshops, training sessions, friendly after-work events, exhibitions, and provides an internal communication platform. The dedicated team at Mundo-Lab is engaged daily in the development and smooth management of all activities, from financing to operating the various Mundo centers.
