Hospitality Europe

Hospitality Europe serves as the liaison and representation office to the European Union institutions for the hospitals and socio-healthcare facilities of the Order of St. John of God and the Hospitaller Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. (hospitality-europe.eu ) Established in 2012, it became an international non-profit association under Belgian law in 2014. The organization's primary objective is to enhance and intensify exchanges and cooperation among its institutions, while also providing a dedicated information channel regarding EU activities and programs. Through its Brussels office, Hospitality Europe offers healthcare facilities in 14 EU member states the opportunity to engage at the European level and establish effective relations with EU institutions in their respective areas of competence. Additionally, the organization aims to organize appropriate forms of collaboration among hospitals and socio-healthcare facilities across various European countries and to promote the image and mission of the Order and the Hospitaller Sisters in Europe and worldwide. The activities of Hospitality Europe are structured and coordinated through a synergistic action of the general assembly and the executive committee of the association. Members include religious representatives designated by the respective General Councils: Fra Joaquim Erra, General Councilor OH Fra José Augusto Gaspar Louro, General Councilor OH Sister Maria Begoña Perez, General Councilor HSC Sister Matilde Porras González, Provincial Superior HSC, Spanish Province Fra Massimo Villa, Provincial Superior OH, Lombardo-Veneta Province Fra Saji Mullankuzhy, Provincial Superior OH, Austrian Province Fra Donatus Forkan, Provincial Superior OH, Western European Province Fra Amador Fernández Fernández, Provincial Superior OH, Spanish Province The current president of the association is Fra Joaquim Erra. General assemblies are convened at the association's headquarters in Brussels or in Rome, Italy, at the General Curia of the Order of St. John of God. (hospitality-europe.eu ) To ensure constant and efficient interaction between the Hospitality Europe Commission, the Provinces, and the Brussels Office, each European Province has appointed a collaborator as the Province's Referent to the Brussels Office. Hospitality Europe is embarking on a new phase of development aimed at strengthening its capacity to respond to emerging challenges. (hospitality-europe.eu ) The organization has initiated several European projects, including the PUENTE project, a partnership funded by the European Union comprising institutions that assist Ukrainian refugees in Europe.
