Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) is a multilingual, internationally oriented teaching and research university in Brussels, built around the principle of free inquiry and the independence of judgment. It combines education, scientific research, and the application of knowledge in a way that is explicitly free from political or ideological constraints, while also serving the wider community and society. ULB emphasizes internal democracy, autonomy, and solidarity in how it is organized and governed, with the university community participating in decision-making through central bodies, faculties, and teaching and research schools. The university brings together a large academic community of professors, researchers, scientific staff, students, and administrative, technical, management, and specialist staff.
