LA VIVRIERE

La Vivrière is a cooperative dedicated to promoting local, high-quality agricultural products by facilitating pre-orders directly from farmers. This initiative, launched by Aurélie and 40 cooperators, aims to relocalize the economy by offering fresh, seasonal products year-round and ensuring sustainable, healthy food is accessible to a broad audience. The cooperative emphasizes fair compensation for producers, placing them at the center of the food supply chain. Each week, producers' offerings are available online from Friday to Thursday at noon for pre-ordering. Customers can collect their purchases directly from producers on Thursdays between 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm at Place St Denis in Forest. The store, located at Rue de la Station 2, 1190 Brussels, is stocked directly by producers, with a focus on organic and bulk products. Additionally, orders can be picked up at various collection points in Brussels or delivered to homes in all 19 municipalities on Fridays during the day. La Vivrière's physical store in Forest serves as more than just a grocery; it is a meeting place for consumers and producers, fostering community engagement. The store offers a carefully selected range of products, including fresh produce, dairy, meats, fish, bakery items, beverages, and non-food items. The cooperative prioritizes products from small-scale, local producers, ensuring quality and sustainability. For items produced on a larger scale, La Vivrière opts for certified organic products from nearby countries such as Belgium, France, Italy, and Germany, sourced from the smallest possible companies. The cooperative collaborates with various producers, including CoHop, a cooperative of microbreweries in Brussels; Hoenshof, a vineyard in Borgloon; and Porc Qualité Ardenne (PQA), a cooperative of pig farmers in Malmedy. These partnerships reflect La Vivrière's commitment to supporting local artisans and providing customers with diverse, high-quality products.
