FinTech Belgium

FinTech Belgium is a dynamic and independent non-profit organization established in 2016, headquartered in Brussels, Belgium. It serves as the largest community in Belgium for professionals, startup entrepreneurs, and investors in the financial technology sector, fostering discussions on disruptive business models and supporting the development of innovative technologies within the financial services industry. The organization aims to welcome as members and partners every company directly or indirectly involved in the financial services industry—including banking, insurance, asset management, payment, consulting, accounting, big data, and technology interfaces—that utilizes or develops operational, technological, or commercial innovative models to improve the functioning of the industry or to address its existing or emerging issues. FinTech Belgium is a place of exchange that enables it to federate its members and represent them outside the community. It is a lively community and a non-profit organization led by a board of directors and managed on a daily basis by a motivated operational team. The organization's mission includes actively and tangibly promoting the FinTech sector in Belgium and Belgian FinTechs abroad; representing the sector in communications with public authorities, media, investors, traditional players in the financial sector, research and academic centers; participating in a platform for dialogue with regulators to consider FinTech specificities in the regulatory environment and to improve the appreciation by regulators of the benefits brought to consumers by FinTech; sharing experience, knowledge, and information within and outside the community to make FinTech attractive and accessible to anyone interested; maintaining relationships with other associations of the digital sector in Belgium and abroad; and organizing conference-debates, meetings, brainstorming sessions, and panels on different topics related to the development of FinTech in Belgium. The FinTech Belgium community has established a charter describing its objectives as well as the values that each member should adhere to. Adherence by the members ensures the cohesion of the community and its credibility with third parties. As a neutral and independent non-profit organization, FinTech Belgium's directors work as volunteers, graciously investing a lot of time for the community. The organization currently has a few employees. FinTech Belgium expresses gratitude to every single one of them and the community for their presence during events. If you too would like to support the community and be part of this great adventure, don't hesitate to get involved.
