BXFM

BXFM is a Brussels-based radio station that serves as a platform for individuals who dare to venture into various fields such as economic, public, political, cultural, environmental, social, scientific, educational, and sports sectors within Brussels and across Europe. It encourages listeners to take charge of their lives, pursue their passions with enthusiasm, and embrace curiosity. The station is accessible through FM, online streaming, social media platforms, and DAB+, offering programs that are close to the residents: open, sometimes unconventional, but always uninhibited. BXFM's mission is to inspire the spirit of entrepreneurship among its audience, highlighting the intrinsic connections between Brussels and Europe. The station emphasizes the importance of entrepreneurial spirit in Europe's development, especially during transitions towards a more human-centric world. Brussels, being the most diverse European capital with nearly 200 nationalities, serves as a focal point for BXFM to relay this exceptional cultural diversity to its listeners. The station's programming includes specialized segments with approximately 4-minute sequences, such as bulletins, interviews, or debates, interspersed with music. This format aims to retain listeners' attention and provide concise, engaging content. Exceptions include news journals and magazine segments during midday and from 5 PM to 7 PM, which may have longer durations. BXFM's philosophy is to address topics constructively, offering positive solutions to encourage listeners to engage with various themes and better understand the challenges of entrepreneurship in Brussels and Europe. As a thematic radio station, BXFM has adapted its focus to societal evolution and the new needs of citizens, especially in response to crises like COVID-19. The station's theme, "The taste for entrepreneurship, 100% Brussels-Europe," underscores the role a radio can play in restoring confidence across all sectors of society. Musically, BXFM collaborates with artists, producers, managers, press relations, tour operators, and influencers to promote musical productions through broadcasts and interviews, sometimes accompanied by acoustic performances. The station stands out in the French-speaking Belgian radio landscape by featuring 20% of titles from the Wallonia-Brussels Federation and 60% of songs sung in French, supporting both established and emerging artists. BXFM embraces new information technologies, utilizing social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Twitch, as well as its website, internet broadcasting (podcasts & streaming), and DAB+. The station provides interviewees with their interviews free of rights, allowing for broader dissemination among their followers, thereby extending the station's reach. The team comprises approximately 85 individuals with diverse qualifications, training, and experiences, including technicians, IT specialists, managers, journalists, social media managers, and seasoned radio hosts, as well as experts from economic, social, environmental, cultural, legal, musical, and artistic fields. This diversity ensures the project's sustainability, legitimacy, and credibility. Since 2013, BXFM has successfully trained nearly 121 individuals aspiring to enter the radio industry. BXFM collaborates with numerous partners interested in its theme, including European, Belgian, and regional institutions, municipalities, associations, theaters, cinemas, businesses, art galleries, concert halls, event spaces, cultural centers, merchants, academies, sports infrastructures, universities, and international and Brussels-based schools. Since 2013, over 254 regular partners have benefited from BXFM's platform. The station's main studio is strategically located at 500 Avenue Louise, within the Brussels Chamber of Commerce building, representing over 3,000 companies and 21,000 individual members. This location integrates the station into the city, allowing passersby to view the live studio through large ground-floor windows. A second production studio in another Brussels municipality provides flexibility and efficiency for the team and listeners. BXFM frequently ventures out with its mobile studios, conducting live broadcasts from various locations to engage with businesses, citizens, associations, experts, artists, institutions, and events. The addition of an electric bike studio, the Tree Bike, allows for immediate interviews anywhere in Brussels in an ecological manner. In summary, BXFM is the only Brussels radio station entirely dedicated to the spirit of entrepreneurship across diverse activities such as economy, culture, sports, social issues, environment, and sustainability, focusing on economic and ecological transitions. The station aims to inspire listeners to take risks, share experiences, and engage actively in their lives. BXFM also emphasizes solidarity among independent radios. Several of its leaders have been involved in supporting independent radios, including the creation of the Radio Z association in 2014, which became an ASBL in 2021, now comprising over 45 member radios. This association fosters daily mutual assistance, with each team member playing a role and organizing awareness campaigns on topics relevant to independent radios.
