Open Collective Brussels

Open Collective Brussels was a nonprofit association dedicated to facilitating citizen initiatives by providing a streamlined platform for launching projects without administrative burdens. Through Open Collective Brussels, individuals and groups could: Initiate artistic or socially impactful projects with ease. Build an online community of backers to support their endeavors. Develop budgets to kickstart their projects. Join the Fund to issue tax certificates to donors. Engage freelancers, volunteers, or Smart contracts to work on their projects. For detailed information on how these services operated, users were directed to the organization's documentation. The organization aimed to empower communities striving to redefine mobility, education, environment, art, and culture. Recognizing that many such communities lacked access to appropriate tools, contacts, and ecosystems to sustain their activities, Open Collective Brussels sought to explore the possibility of recreating a city from the ground up—emphasizing transparency, inclusion, and a spirit of experimentation. The vision was to foster a city where everyone was invited to contribute, and where all possibilities were open. Open Collective Brussels supported projects that encouraged civic participation, artistic creation, democratic debate, and the rebuilding of connections between communities. Individuals with projects aligning with this mission were encouraged to apply or contact the organization directly. As of January 31, 2022, Open Collective Brussels merged into Open Collective Europe, and the organization is no longer active.
